At #75, the Packers Pick an O-Lineman

Still looking to shore up its offensive line, the Packers took Jason Spitz, center/guard from Louisville, with their 75th pick. This might be more of a backup or role player pick than anything else, although Spitz can apparently play either guard position as well as center. Here's the skinny from NFL.com's Prospect Profiles:
"Overall, Spitz lacks the playing strength and athleticism to become a starter in the NFL. However, he has all the intangibles to go with his foot quickness and natural size to stick in the NFL as a backup center/guard who can spot start adequately when needed."

Perhaps the Pack believes they can develop his technique. Spitz apparently has the right combination of height, weight and speed, but is seen as more of a straight-line blocker without a lot of flexibility or agility. Possible project pick here.
